Through the My Life My Power Program, youth are provided with opportunities to give back to their communities through outreach projects. It is within these projects that they aquire essential skills and tools to include within their resume, help develop work ethic, learn the importance of giving back to others, teamwork, and much more!
One of our initiatives of community outreach is to help local elderly residents who need help with cleaning chores around their yards. The MLMP youth will assist with raking leaves, trim bushes, mow the lawn, prepare flower beds and garden soil for planting and other minor outdoor cleaning chores that senior residents may not be able to do on their own.
A young girl that participated in one of our elderly outreach projects said, “It was such an amazing feeling knowing that we were able to bring a smile to the faces of the elderly. They were so thankful and appreciative for our hardwork. And, seeing the huge difference that our efforts made from before to after was definitely something that I look forward to doing again!”
